Waverly Central School District is a community partnership dedicated to providing a challenging educational environment which prepares every individual for a productive life in an ever changing global society.
The Waverly Central School District provides a quality educational program for approximately 1,775 students from kindergarten through grade 12.
Elementary students receive their program in one of three uniquely sized and situated elementary schools. The Elm Street School, with 450 students, and the Lincoln Street School, with 335 students, are located in the Village of Waverly. Chemung Elementary School, with 140 students, is located in a rural setting in the Town of Chemung.
Waverly Middle School is a school of approximately 280 grade 7 and 8 students located on the High School campus.
Waverly High School offers an outstanding program to approximately 570 students in grades 9-12.
The Waverly District takes great pride in offering a number of unique and challenging programs at both the elementary and secondary levels.
The program at Waverly High School also features a full array of athletics and extracur–ricular programs. Waverly graduates have been eminently successful and attend many major colleges and universities, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Brown University, Penn State, Ohio State, Cornell University, Princeton and Syracuse University. Waverly High has traditionally had the highest percentage of Regents diploma graduates, with more than 89 percent going on to college or university programs.
