Looking for a Counselor?

  • Tioga County Mental Health - Tioga County Mental Health is located in the Department of Social Services building on Rte. 34 in Owego. (607) 687-4000

  • Owego - (607) 687-4000 available for crisis 9a-5p M-F. Intakes are a walk-in service and only done in the Owego office, Monday-Friday beginning at 9am and the last intake starts at 3pm. We encourage you to get there first thing so you are high on the list of people to see.

  • Waverly - (607) 565-9594

    available for crisis 9a-5p M-F The paperwork is lengthy, it takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, so we advise everyone to do it ahead of time at the Waverly site.

    There is no appointment needed to complete the paperwork and they open at 8am.

    Once the intake is complete, they will work with you to find a counselor in Waverly if there are openings, but they also have zoom appointments available.

In Chemung County

  • Cerio Counseling  (607) 737-4040 - Accepts MOST insurance- no Medicaid. Just call and make an appointment. They see individuals, families, adults, youth, offers groups and referrals to an on-site psychiatrist.

  • Family Services

    Only individual counseling provided.  No family or group counseling services.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP):  MANY employers will have an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) where some mental health counseling sessions are provided free of charge.  This can be a great resource to start with and they can make referrals if needed after the session limit is met.  Speak to someone in human resources today!
