Another exciting learning opportunity for families, caregivers, and teachers! The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) is offering a free a training series. This month's topic focuses on supporting emotional regulation in neurodiverse children.

What: Supporting Emotional Regulation in Neurodiverse Children: Considerations & Strategies for Setting Children Up for Success
When: December 11, 2025, from 6:00-7:30pm
Where: All sessions are offered through Zoom.

Registration is required: https://nysrcasd.org/events/1542/registrations/new

Holidays, while joyful, can also be stressful. For neurodiverse individuals the change in their routine, anticipation, uncertainty, and many other factors, can lead to heightened emotionality (positive or negative) that may lead to “big” emotions. This presentation will focus on these challenges and highlight proactive strategies to both minimize distress and further support the development of emotional regulation skills.

Following participation in the seminar, participants will be able to:
1. Identify proactive strategies to reduce instances of dysregulation.
2. Identify strategies to implement as early warning signs emerge.
3. Identify strategies to increase the acquisition and generalization of emotional regulation skills.

Presenter Bio:
David L. Meichenbaum, Ph.D. is a NYS licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the diagnostic evaluation and treatment of developmental and mental health disorders.

Good afternoon, all!

Sign-ups are now live for the 2026 Waverly Ski Club!

We are proud to announce that we are again partnering with Greek Peak to provide a group discount to the members of Waverly's community! Anyone affiliated with our school community can join this group to get a great discount on skiing and snowboarding. Students, staff, friends, and family are all welcome to join.

Just like the last few years, we will not be providing transportation. This is a self-transport club.

With the purchase of your pass, you can hit the slopes on 6 Sundays during January and February from 10am to 5pm. You will also have the opportunity to purchase equipment rentals, and a meal plan. These two things cost extra. The pass also comes with three lessons, which is incredibly helpful for new skiers and boarders.

The attached flyer and instruction sheet have all the information you should need to get signed up. Please read through both documents before starting. The process can be a little confusing if you don't.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Mr. Doherty, this year's advisor at kdoherty@wcsdletsgo.com.
