WAVERLY – The Lincoln Street Elementary School food pantry and the Wolverine Community Cupboard in Chemung recently received supplies thanks to a local business.
Sacred Signature Tattoo Studio, located at 315 Broad Street in Waverly, held a food drive on Sept. 19 with over 600 people donating supplies during the event.
The food was then donated to the food pantries at Lincoln Street and at the Chemung Innovation Center, as well as the Sayre Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, Enchanted Palettes Food Pantry, Becky’s Diner Food Pantry and the Spencer-Van Etten Food Pantry.
“We just wanted to give back to the community. We see so much homeless in our area and wanted to do something good and give back as much as we can especially since I’ve been in their shoes and not knowing when my next meal was going to be,” said Sacred Signatures owner Stephany Elizabeth.
The Waverly Central School District would like to thank the team at Sacred Signature as well as all those who donated to this food drive.
