Tompkins Cortland Community College will be hosting a College Fair on Tuesday, October 15th. The times are 11 a.m.-1 p.m.and 6-7:30 p.m.

JUST A REMINDER: Tonight is Senior Information Night for our Class of 2025 Students and their Parents.at 6pm in the HS Auditorium. The event should last about an hour. Meet the Class Advisors, Class Officers, and help us to send the the Class of 2025 onto their best year yet!

Student Parking: Effective today, students must park in their assigned parking spots. All students that have turned in parking registration forms have been assigned a space. If a student doesn't know his/her assigned space, please see the main office before parking in the front lot. Any student that is currently parking on campus without the registration form completed, must park in the new lot behind the school/ band room, near the softball field, until all paperwork for an assigned space in front of the building is completed. The back doors of the building are locked, so students will need to walk to the front entrance to enter the building. Please adhere to these parking procedures to allow for all staff and students to have adequate parking.

Reminder: Tonight is Underclassmen Information Night at the High School. 5:30pm in the HS Auditorium This event should last about an hour, and is a chance for you to get any questions answered regarding your student's school year. Parents/Students in grades 9, 10 and 11 are encouraged to attend. An informational powerpoint will be provided after the event via email for parents/students.

WARP Information for Families This year WARP will operate in 3 ten-week sessions. Families must register their child for each session. Due to funding, we are accepting 50 students per session on a first come-first serve basis. The sessions are as follows: Session 1: September 23-December 13 (This session is currently full) Session 2: January 13-March 28 Session 3: March 31-June 13 The hours of the program are from school dismissal until 5:30. In order to fulfill grant requirements, students are expected to stay until at least 4:30. Students that must be regularly dismissed before 4:30 must attend SACC. Welcome to September and Happy Labor Day! Waverly CSD welcomes our teachers and staff back to school tomorrow and Wednesday for conference days. Doors open for HS students at 7:45am on Thursday, Sept. 5th. We can’t wait to see you all! On Thursday, students will find their name posted on lists throughout the first floor- indicating their 1st period class. At that room, students will receive a colored FINAL copy of their schedule. This colored schedule should be the one the student follows. Lockers must be used at all times this year by students for their backpacks and belongings. Students will not be allowed to carry a backpack during the school day. The only exception will be for those with temporary medical conditions (approved by an administrator), or those who have a medical note/exemption from a doctor on file. All students should have received a summer mailing with a locker number and combination printed on the tentative schedule. Those students who did not receive a mailing- or an assigned locker- should call or stop by the main office during the open hours on 9/3 or 9/4. A preliminary High school course supply list can be found on the website or at this link: https://www.waverlyschools.com/o/whs/page/supply-lists Or students may choose to wait and see what the specific class needs after the first couple of days with the teacher. This year laptops will not be sent home daily. Instead, each student will have a charging station assigned to them where they will pick it up each morning and drop it off before leaving each day. Specific instances where the laptop is needed for nightly assignments or online coursework will be made and the students will sign them out individually. More information will be given to students on the first day. Just a reminder- the High School building will be open for students to locate their classrooms and try out their lockers and combinations on: Tuesday 9/3 from 12-3pm Wednesday 9/4 from 8-11am. Students must check in (and check out) at the welcome table in the main lobby if they are in the building for these open hours. There are Parent Information Nights scheduled: Monday 9/9 -5:30pm -for Grades 9-11 Wednesday 9/11 -6pm -for Grade 12 only Students and Parents are encouraged to attend these sessions. SUNY Free Application Week Announced Beginning Monday, October 21st, and ending Sunday, November 3rd, students can apply to up to five SUNY campuses with no application fee. This includes all campuses, no matter which application vehicle the student uses. The SUNY 2025 application is expected to be available beginning August 1st. Please remember that students can submit their application during the free application week period, but supplemental materials such as transcripts and letters of recommendation may be submitted after November 3rd.
