SAT registration is open for the 2024-25 testing year. Many colleges consider SAT scores as part of their holistic admission and placement decisions, and your score is a valid way to show what you've learned. Most juniors take their first SAT in the spring, and many take it again in the fall of their senior year to improve their score. It can help you keep your college options open, demonstrate your unique strengths, and even qualify for scholarships. Register at www.collegeboard.org. *Please Note - Waverly is not a testing site. Students may take the SAT exam at a surrounding school district (Sayre, Athens, Tioga, etc.) **When registering for an SAT exam, students must enter Waverly's CEEB Code number which is 335845 so that we can receive your scores. ***SAT scores are entered on a student's transcript. If student's do not want their scores on their transcript, the Guidance Department must have written permission from a parent/guardian to have them removed. Please be advised that Colleges and Universities may ask that your SAT scores be sent officially even if you request that they are taken off of your high school transcript. Please contact your Guidance Counselor with questions.

2024 SUNY Application Now Available
Waverly High School Students and Parents: Welcome to August! We are preparing for a great start to the new school year! August Regents: On Wednesday, any student needing to retake a Regents exam was mailed an information letter. You should receive them any day in the mail. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are in fact retaking an August exam. If you choose not to retest in August, Regents exams will be held again in January 2025. 24-25 Schedules: A student mailing for Grades 10-12 is being mailed today and Grade 9 will be mailed next week! In this mailing, there is a welcome letter and a tentative schedule. As class balancing and changes are made over the next few weeks, there may be slight changes, however, we have made every effort to include courses that each child has selected. Depending on a student's grade level, there will also be other paperwork in the envelope. Juniors and Seniors will have parking registration forms. Seniors who are eligible (based on 2023-24 grades) for Open Campus privileges will have paperwork also. Junior Open Campus will not begin until after the first grade reporting period in October. EVERY student is getting a registration form that needs to be completed and returned to the high school main office. Please take the time to complete this so that we have all the correct contact information. New this year: We encourage you to add a student's cell phone number on this registration form. At the high school level, it often becomes more efficient at times to communicate directly with the student from the main office. We hope you are enjoying summer! Waverly Central School District, like most other school districts around the country, is experiencing a shortage of bus drivers. The district is actively pursuing motivated individuals 21 or older who would like to join our transportation team. Waverly CSD pays for all driver training, and the substitute pay is very competitive. Also, most of our subs eventually roll into full-time employment with great benefits! Without new people coming on board to drive buses for the Waverly School District, our staff will continue to decrease in numbers which means less transportation opportunities for our students. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a bus driver for the Waverly Central School District, please contact Transportation Director Rich McIntosh by phone at 607-565-8114 or through email at rmcintosh@wcsdletsgo.com.

Good Afternoon Waverly, We are planning to hold graduation in the stadium beginning at 7pm tonight. (Graduates should be at the bus garage to line up at 6:15pm.) It will be very warm, please dress comfortably and stay hydrated! There is a marginal risk of a passing storm. Fingers crossed it heads north of us, and we can celebrate rain free. There are no tickets needed. Seating is first come, first serve. Water will be available for sale through the concession stand. FBLA will be selling flower bouquets for $15 on the concourse. Parking: The upper lot next to the stadium (East side of Elm building) is being reserved for handicap parking first, and then will be open to the general public. General public parking will be in the Elm St. (west side of building), Spaulding St. lot, Elm St. and Barker Place. Graduate/student parking is at the bus garage. Administration and Board Member parking is in the small lot across from the bus garage.
