SAT registration is open for the 2024-25 testing year. Many colleges consider SAT scores as part of their holistic admission and placement decisions, and your score is a valid way to show what you've learned. Most juniors take their first SAT in the spring, and many take it again in the fall of their senior year to improve their score. It can help you keep your college options open, demonstrate your unique strengths, and even qualify for scholarships.
Register at https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat/dates-deadlines?SFMC_cid=EM1186275-&rid=509294492.
*Please Note - Waverly is not a testing site. Students may take the SAT exam at a surrounding school district (Sayre, Athens, Tioga, etc.)
**When registering for an SAT exam, students must enter Waverly's CEEB Code number which is 335845 so that we can receive your scores.
***SAT scores are entered on a student's transcript. If student's do not want their scores on their transcript, the Guidance Department must have written permission from a parent/guardian to have them removed. Please be advised that Colleges and Universities may ask that your SAT scores be sent officially even if you request that they are taken off of your high school transcript.
Please contact your Guidance Counselor with questions.
Kind Regards,
The Waverly Guidance Department

Student Athletes!
For students looking to play sports at the collegiate level, please see important information below.
What is the NCAA Clearinghouse?
The NCAA Clearinghouse is an organization outside of the NCAA which performs academic record evaluations to determine if a prospective student-athlete is eligible to participate at an NCAA Division I or II college as a freshman student-athlete. Please see Division I Initial Eligibility Requirements for a breakdown of those minimum academic requirements.
Who needs to be certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse?
All freshman and two-year college transfers who do not have an associate degree and would like to participate in any sport at an NCAA member institution (Division I or II) must register for the academic portion of the Clearinghouse. Why do I need to be certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse if I'm going to attend a junior college? Dependent upon your NCAA Clearinghouse qualification status (qualifier or non-qualifier), there are different 2-year school transfer rules to be immediately eligible at the 4-year institution you transfer to. Please see Junior College Transfer Requirements for more information.
If I have never registered and/or never been certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse what is my NCAA qualification status?
If you have never registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse or never certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse, you are considered to be a non-qualifier and must meet non-qualifier transfer requirements should you decide to attend a junior college.
How do I register with the NCAA Clearinghouse?
The registration process is completed online by visiting www.ncaaclearinghouse.net. After your junior year, visit the above website and complete the Student Release Form (SRF) online and pay the registration fee ($50 for domestic and $75 for international students). Fees may be paid online by providing a credit or debit card number or by sending a check or money order to the clearinghouse. Please visit the clearinghouse website listed above for detailed payment instructions. To complete the registration process, print a copy of your completed registration form and both Copy 1 and Copy 2 of the transcript release form. Sign the transcript release forms and give both to you high school counselor. You can obtain a copy of the "NCAA Guide for the College Bound Student-Athlete" which contains more detailed instructions of the clearinghouse registration process by referring to the attachment by visiting https://web3.ncaa.org/ecwr3/
How can I find out if I am enrolled in approved core-courses which will meet NCAA eligibility requirements?
You may view your high school's list of NCAA-approved core courses by visiting www.ncaaclearinghouse.net and selecting List of Approved Core Courses on the General Information page or by asking your high school counselor for the list.
How can I arrange for my test scores to be sent directly from the SAT or ACT testing agency to the NCAA Clearinghouse?
When you register to take the ACT or SAT, mark code 9999 so that the testing agency will send your scores to the clearinghouse. Test scores must be reported to the clearinghouse directly from SAT or ACT. The clearinghouse will not accept test scores reported on high school transcripts.
Once certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse, what is the difference between a qualifier and a non-qualifier?
Qualifier:
Eligible for athletically related financial aid, practice and competition during your first year of enrollment at a NCAA member institution.
You have 5 years to play 4 seasons in your sport if you maintain your eligibility from year to year.
Non-qualifier:
Ineligible for athletically related financial aid, practice and competition during your first year at a NCAA member institution.
You have 4 years to play 3 seasons in your sport if you maintain your eligibility from year to year. *
* Non-qualifiers have the ability to gain back a year of eligibility if they complete at least 80 percent of their degree prior to the beginning of their fifth year of college.
*Please the the following link to view the 2023-2024 NCAA Guide For The College-Bound Student-Athlete - http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/eligibility_center/Student_Resources/CBSA.pdf.
Student Athletes should work closely with their coaches and Guidance Counselor to ensure they are meeting all of the requirements necessary.
Kind Regards,
The Waverly Guidance Department

Good afternoon!
The boys and girls Waverly soccer programs will be hosting a skills camp again this summer. I have created an online sign-up with ALL the information you need (what, when, where, etc)

Waverly Soccer Skills Camp | July 29, 2024
Join us on July 29

Waverly Central School District, like most other school districts around the country, is experiencing a shortage of bus drivers. The district is actively pursuing motivated individuals 21 or older who would like to join our transportation team. Waverly CSD pays for all driver training, and the substitute pay is very competitive. Also, most of our subs eventually roll into full-time employment with great benefits! Without new people coming on board to drive buses for the Waverly School District, our staff will continue to decrease in numbers which means less transportation opportunities for our students. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a bus driver for the Waverly Central School District, please contact Transportation Director Rich McIntosh by phone at 607-565-8114 or through email at rmcintosh@wcsdletsgo.com.

Good Afternoon Waverly,
We are planning to hold graduation in the stadium beginning at 7pm tonight.
(Graduates should be at the bus garage to line up at 6:15pm.)
It will be very warm, please dress comfortably and stay hydrated!
There is a marginal risk of a passing storm. Fingers crossed it heads north of us, and we can celebrate rain free.
There are no tickets needed. Seating is first come, first serve.
Water will be available for sale through the concession stand. FBLA will be selling flower bouquets for $15 on the concourse.
Parking:
The upper lot next to the stadium (East side of Elm building) is being reserved for handicap parking first, and then will be open to the general public.
General public parking will be in the Elm St. (west side of building), Spaulding St. lot, Elm St. and Barker Place.
Graduate/student parking is at the bus garage. Administration and Board Member parking is in the small lot across from the bus garage.

Guidance Department News - Final Transcripts and Requests - Information for Seniors
We’re nearing the time when Seniors will need to start requesting their Tompkins Cortland Community College transcript and Corning Community College transcript be sent to their college. TC3 will be emailing the Seniors that TC3 have emails for regarding how to request an official transcript to be sent to where you will be attending college in the Fall. The Guidance Department cannot send an Official Transcript from TC3 or CCC with the College credits that you have earned - the student must complete this step on their student portal or by reaching out to the College directly.
Final High School Transcripts
All final high school transcripts will be mailed to the student's College after July 1st. If you receive a letter in the mail from the College or University that they require a final high school transcript, please know that these will be done from the Guidance Department and no further action is required on your part.
Corning Community College
Students should visit https://www.corning-cc.edu/admissions-future-students/ace/transcript-requests.php.
ACE students will need their CCC ID or Social Security number to request a transcript. Call the ACE office to get your CCC ID: 607-962-9491 or 607-962-9533.
A credit card will be required to cover the $8.00 charge per request.
If you are uncomfortable placing an order over the Internet, Parchment will place your transcript request for an additional operator surcharge for placing orders over the telephone.
**Important –ACE Students ONLY need to wait until all grades are entered by their high school instructors. Please check the box "ACE Students ONLY - Hold for Grades" when submitting the request. Call the ACE office at 607-962-9491 if you need help logging in.

Tompkins Cortland Community College
If a Senior is attending TC3 in the Fall, you do NOT need to request a transcript
Seniors should hold off on requesting their official transcript until ALL of their grades have been posted. We suggest July 1st.
Seniors that are earning their associate’s degree through the Early Degree program, their degree won’t be shown on their transcripts until late August/early September.
Seniors will need their username and/or password or text TC3 at 607-367-6828 and Rhonda Kowalski will help you. *We do not have this information in the Guidance Department.
Please Remember - Official Transcript requests MUST be done by the student and not the parent/guardian
Students joining the military should get a copy of their transcript as well as it helps with rank.
