2025 Guthrie Scholarship Guthrie has announced that they will be offering their annual 2025 Scholarship to high school Seniors through the Guthrie Health Professions Scholarship Program. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Guthrie Health Professions Scholarships (10 Awarded) - All area students included (exclusive of children of Guthrie physicians). Students must be a member of the class of 2025 and plan to enroll at an accredited college/university or hospital-based nursing or allied health program in the summer or fall of 2025. Applicants must plan to enter a health career such as medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, allied health professions, health care administration, or medical research. The value of each Guthrie Health Professions scholarship is $1,000 per year or $4,000 over four years for undergraduate studies. The Waverly Athletic Department will be accepting cash donations at our boys' and girls' basketball games tomorrow, 1/25 to help support the Roehrig family of Wyalusing, who tragically lost two family members in a fire on Monday. No admission to the game will be charged in lieu of accepting donations to support the Roehrig family during this most difficult of times. Game times are 1:00-Varsity Boys vs. Tioga, 2:30-JV Girls vs. Sus. Valley, and 4:00-Varsity Girls vs. Sus. Valley.

Rhoda M. Sutryk Memorial Scholarship
This *$3,000 annual scholarship was set up in loving memory of Rhoda M. Sutryk, a talented individual who served her community well and poured her soul into the lives of young and old alike. Rhoda’s most devoted love was her family, where she mothered eleven wonderful children. Family values, the love for music, and strength of character were important to her. Along with her role as mother, Rhoda was a beloved piano teacher, choir director, music teacher, and more. She gave her talent, energy, and time in her community through various organizations, including Waverly High School and Elementary choirs, Waverly Band, Waverly Summer Music Theater, Waverly sports programs, Waverly art classes, nursing homes, churches, and any and all activities her children were involved in. Throughout her whole life, she repetitively demonstrated kindness and goodness serving those in and around the valley communities. *The Sutryk family reserves the right to give one $3,000 scholarship or two $1,500 scholarships. This award is given to a student in the Waverly Central School District who demonstrates any of Rhoda’s most treasured values.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Waverly graduating senior
- Accepted into a college or other advanced program is preferred
- Statement (250-500 words, double-spaced) on any or all of the following topics:
1. Today, family takes on many different appearances and dynamics. Explain the importance of family values and what does family mean to you? How has family helped mold you into who you are today?
2. What are you most admirable character traits and how do these traits help you through everyday life?
3. What gifts have I given through music, and how I will continue my love for music throughout my future years. - Must show outstanding character of outward goodness and kindness towards others.

Vietnam Moving Wall Scholarship 2025

The Scholarship recognizes an individual student from each of the three valley schools (Waverly, Sayre, and Athens) who meets the criteria which is listed in the attachment provided.

NUCOR Foundation Scholarship for 2025 - ATTENTION QUALIFYING SENIORS!! March 1st , 2025 Deadline.
NUCOR Foundation was established as a non-profit corporation for charitable and educational purposes including the awarding of scholarship grants to deserving men and women. It is the belief of the Foundation that the further economic and social progress of the nation is built upon the education of its citizens. The awarding of scholarships is seen to
encourage personal as well as national and community development.
Students awarded the FOUNDATION Scholarship:
The current award amount is four thousand dollars ($4,000) per year/12-month period.
All scholarships will be awarded for a period of four years, or whatever lesser period is normally required for completion of the courses in which the recipient is enrolled.
♦ The course of study must be completed within eight (8) years of High School graduation.
Scholarship funds may be used only to defray the recipient’s undergraduate actual out-of-pocket expenses that are payable directly to the school for:
♦ [a] tuition, [b] fees, [c] books and materials and [d] room and board (in that order).
The scholarship recipient may attend any qualified accredited college, university, vocational, or trade school
within the United States.

A recipient may transfer from one institution to another and retain the award.

Tioga Tae Kwon Do Scholarship
Tioga Tae Kwon Do established an annual academic scholarship award available to their
students that have demonstrated outstanding academic and martial arts performance and will be pursuing a college degree. Applicant must be an active student of Tioga Tae Kwon Do, LLC.
The decision is based on merit and not need. Applicant shall have demonstrated strong academic
and martial arts performance.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicant must be an active student of Tioga Tae Kwon Do, LLC.
Enrolled in accredited college or university.
Essay (200-250 words doubled spaced) on how Martial Arts have influenced your life,
focusing on tenets of Tae Kwon Do: Curtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and
Indomitable Spirit.

Rockman’s Tuxedo Shop/Babe & George Tymoski Scholarship
This scholarship was set up in memory of Babe & George Tymoski who were the proprietors of
Rockman’s Dress Shop in downtown Sayre for many years. This scholarship is open to graduates
of Athens, Sayre or Waverly High Schools. The student must continue their education in a field
that will lead to their starting their own business or obtaining a degree in the business field.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Graduating seniors from Athens Area High School, Sayre Area High School, PA or
Waverly Central High School, NY.
• Accepted into an accredited institution of higher learning (a 4 year, 2 year or trade
school) in the United States.
• Essay (200-250 words doubled spaced) on what makes you an excellent candidate for this
scholarship.
• Please provide a list of school-based activities (including leadership positions, clubs and
athletics) as well as community volunteer activities and the number of months or years.
• A copy of your completed community service project that improved the communities in
the Valley and demonstrated your entrepreneurial ability and knowledge.
• The student should be continuing their education in a field that will lead to their starting

This is a newly established scholarship by Guthrie Federal Credit Union. Guthrie Federal Credit
Union is deeply committed to supporting the education goals of graduating seniors.
Eligibility Criteria and Checklist:
• Graduating senior from Waverly Central High School, Tioga Central High
School, New York, or a Bradford County, PA high school - also including
parochial schools and home-schooled students.
• Must be accepted into an accredited four-year college or university.
• Write an essay of 250-500 words, double spaced that describes areas in your
life where you have demonstrated leadership and overcame obstacles either
through your school, social, or family life. While you can certainly write
about an experience that has had a profound effect on your life, it is important
to remember that we are not evaluating you based upon the seriousness of the
