NUCOR Foundation Scholarship for 2025 - ATTENTION QUALIFYING SENIORS!! March 1st , 2025 Deadline.
NUCOR Foundation was established as a non-profit corporation for charitable and educational purposes including the awarding of scholarship grants to deserving men and women. It is the belief of the Foundation that the further economic and social progress of the nation is built upon the education of its citizens. The awarding of scholarships is seen to
encourage personal as well as national and community development.
Students awarded the FOUNDATION Scholarship:
The current award amount is four thousand dollars ($4,000) per year/12-month period.
All scholarships will be awarded for a period of four years, or whatever lesser period is normally required for completion of the courses in which the recipient is enrolled.
♦ The course of study must be completed within eight (8) years of High School graduation.
Scholarship funds may be used only to defray the recipient’s undergraduate actual out-of-pocket expenses that are payable directly to the school for:
♦ [a] tuition, [b] fees, [c] books and materials and [d] room and board (in that order).
The scholarship recipient may attend any qualified accredited college, university, vocational, or trade school
within the United States.
♦ correspondence schools and/or most internet classes are not eligible for funding from the Foundation Scholarship.
♦ Students attending International Schools are eligible for Educational Disbursement.
A recipient may transfer from one institution to another and retain the award.
♦ Students must update their college profile on the foundation website with the name of the institution.

Tioga Tae Kwon Do Scholarship
Tioga Tae Kwon Do established an annual academic scholarship award available to their
students that have demonstrated outstanding academic and martial arts performance and will be pursuing a college degree. Applicant must be an active student of Tioga Tae Kwon Do, LLC.
The decision is based on merit and not need. Applicant shall have demonstrated strong academic
and martial arts performance.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicant must be an active student of Tioga Tae Kwon Do, LLC.
Enrolled in accredited college or university.
Essay (200-250 words doubled spaced) on how Martial Arts have influenced your life,
focusing on tenets of Tae Kwon Do: Curtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and
Indomitable Spirit.
Transcript of high school grades.
Copy of Resume (including volunteer work).
Decision is based on merit and not need.

Rockman’s Tuxedo Shop/Babe & George Tymoski Scholarship
This scholarship was set up in memory of Babe & George Tymoski who were the proprietors of
Rockman’s Dress Shop in downtown Sayre for many years. This scholarship is open to graduates
of Athens, Sayre or Waverly High Schools. The student must continue their education in a field
that will lead to their starting their own business or obtaining a degree in the business field.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Graduating seniors from Athens Area High School, Sayre Area High School, PA or
Waverly Central High School, NY.
• Accepted into an accredited institution of higher learning (a 4 year, 2 year or trade
school) in the United States.
• Essay (200-250 words doubled spaced) on what makes you an excellent candidate for this
scholarship.
• Please provide a list of school-based activities (including leadership positions, clubs and
athletics) as well as community volunteer activities and the number of months or years.
• A copy of your completed community service project that improved the communities in
the Valley and demonstrated your entrepreneurial ability and knowledge.
• The student should be continuing their education in a field that will lead to their starting
their own business or obtaining a degree in the business field.

Guthrie Community Credit Union Scholarship - March 31st, 2025 Deadline
This is a newly established scholarship by Guthrie Federal Credit Union. Guthrie Federal Credit
Union is deeply committed to supporting the education goals of graduating seniors.
Eligibility Criteria and Checklist:
• Graduating senior from Waverly Central High School, Tioga Central High
School, New York, or a Bradford County, PA high school - also including
parochial schools and home-schooled students.
• Must be accepted into an accredited four-year college or university.
• Write an essay of 250-500 words, double spaced that describes areas in your
life where you have demonstrated leadership and overcame obstacles either
through your school, social, or family life. While you can certainly write
about an experience that has had a profound effect on your life, it is important
to remember that we are not evaluating you based upon the seriousness of the
obstacle you overcame. The goal of the essay is to show us that you have
intelligence and fortitude to handle challenges that come your way.

Applications are also available on this website. "General Scholarship Application" - The General Scholarship Application is the first step for all applications. This application condenses several applications into one submission and might be lengthier than typical applications, so students are encouraged to submit early. Deadlines - Most applications have the deadline of February 1st, 2025 and all third party uploads (i.e. transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc..) must be submitted by February 8th, 2025. 2025 CNY Air & Waste Management Association Scholarship Opportunity
The Central New York Chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association is soliciting applications for 2025 scholarships. Scholarships of up to $1,500 will be awarded in the spring of 2025 to college students or high school seniors enrolled in college for the fall 2025 semester in an environmental-related program.

GHS College Scholarship Program January 17th, 2025 deadline approaching!

For the fourth year, GHS is offering two scholarship opportunities to local high school seniors who plan to attend a 2- or 4- year school in the fall of 2025. 2025 Guthrie Scholarship Guthrie has announced that they will be offering their annual 2025 Scholarship to high school Seniors through the Guthrie Health Professions Scholarship Program. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Guthrie Health Professions Scholarships (10 Awarded) - All area students included (exclusive of children of Guthrie physicians). Students must be a member of the class of 2025 and plan to enroll at an accredited college/university or hospital-based nursing or allied health program in the summer or fall of 2025.
