NUCOR Foundation Scholarship for 2025 - ATTENTION QUALIFYING SENIORS!! March 1st , 2025 Deadline. NUCOR Foundation was established as a non-profit corporation for charitable and educational purposes including the awarding of scholarship grants to deserving men and women. It is the belief of the Foundation that the further economic and social progress of the nation is built upon the education of its citizens. The awarding of scholarships is seen to encourage personal as well as national and community development. Students awarded the FOUNDATION Scholarship: The current award amount is four thousand dollars ($4,000) per year/12-month period. Tioga Tae Kwon Do Scholarship Tioga Tae Kwon Do established an annual academic scholarship award available to their students that have demonstrated outstanding academic and martial arts performance and will be pursuing a college degree. Rockman’s Tuxedo Shop/Babe & George Tymoski Scholarship This scholarship was set up in memory of Babe & George Tymoski who were the proprietors of Rockman’s Dress Shop in downtown Sayre for many years. This scholarship is open to graduates of Athens, Sayre or Waverly High Schools. The student must continue their education in a field that will lead to their starting their own business or obtaining a degree in the business field. Guthrie Community Credit Union Scholarship - March 31st, 2025 Deadline This is a newly established scholarship by Guthrie Federal Credit Union. Guthrie Federal Credit Union is deeply committed to supporting the education goals of graduating seniors. 2025 Community Foundation - Elmira - Corning- Finger Lakes Scholarships Details for the Scholarship(s) for which students at Waverly may be eligible can be found at www.communityfund.org/what-we-do/scholarships with descriptions based on the school district or county. Applications are also available on this website. "General Scholarship Application" - The General Scholarship Application is the first step for all applications. This application condenses several applications into one submission and might be lengthier than typical applications, so students are encouraged to submit early. Deadlines - Most applications have the deadline of February 1st, 2025 and all third party uploads (i.e. transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc..) must be submitted by February 8th, 2025. Welcome Back High School Students and Families!-we hope you had a wonderful break! We return to school tomorrow- Monday, January 6. Many of you may have seen that our Gymnasium is now open! Construction continues in other parts of the building, and different spaces will also come to completion over the next couple months. It's a super exciting time for all of us! January 6-January 17--We only have 10 class days remaining in this marking period (Semester #2). Please do your best to finish these current courses strong! Monday, January 20- NO School- Martin Luther King Jr. day January 21-24- NYS Regents Exams. These are TEST ONLY days, gr. 9-12 students only attend if they are scheduled for an exam. Any student that is registered to take an exam should have received a notification in the mail. NOTE: AM and PM CTE BOCES programs will be in session during Regents week, transportation is provided and students are expected to attend. An excused absence will only be given to BOCES for a student who is testing. Regents Review information was also mailed to those taking an exam, and will be sent in a follow up notification. Schooltool Parent Portal will be "locked /not visible" for student/parent viewing at the end of this week. It will remain closed for about 3 weeks. This is necessary to finalize Spring 2025 schedules, calculate final grades for the Fall semester, Regents exam scoring, and the calculation of Senior Class ranking. Note: Any Fall 2024 failed course(s) will be rescheduled into a student's spring schedule. We anticipate re-opening Schooltool Parent Portal and announcing our Senior Class Ranking (Top Ten) in early February. **ATTENTION Juniors(and parents) with a GPA of 85+...... please check your email regarding GST BOCES New Visions programming for the 25-26 school year. 2025 CNY Air & Waste Management Association Scholarship Opportunity The Central New York Chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association is soliciting applications for 2025 scholarships. Scholarships of up to $1,500 will be awarded in the spring of 2025 to college students or high school seniors enrolled in college for the fall 2025 semester in an environmental-related program.
